The Gulf Air A320 was successfully re-certified by the UK CAA to Level D after upgrading their Image IV with RSI's RASTER XT visual system.
The visual system introduced a PC/IG and LCoS projectors to Gulf for the first, of two, visual system upgrades in Bahrain.

GCAT Flight Academy (now Oxford Aviation Academy) replaced an SP3/CSM WAC window visual system on their 737 FFS with RSI's RASTER xT PC/IG and JVC LCoS projectors. OAA also took advantage of the improved quality image produced by a "Front Projection" Collimated, 180x40, "Lightning" optical system from SEOS. RSI has found that Front Projection eliminates the "Cross Cockpit Brightness Variation" inherent in Back Projection systems, while increasing brightness and contrast. This is the first JAA Level D qualification for the Front Projection Optical system. The RASTER xT IG also provides the simulator with GeoSpecific terrain that covers the entire European and North African continents. The available on line terrain can be expanded to include all the continents of the World. RSI implemented new IOS functions on a Tablet PC within the cockpit, to augment the existing IOS functionality. OAA have now received full JAA Level "D" Initial Certification with the new visual.
