After fierce competition, RSI has been selected to provide new visual systems for the USAF T-1A simulators. This program encompasses 11 targeted simulators at various U.S.A.F. training bases.
The unique upgrade solution designed for these simulators will include a larger visual Field of View provided by RSI's CrossView 220 x 45 degree front projected Collimated Optical System. The optical system has been specifically designed for installations in limited space facilities, without the need for relocation of any T-1A trainer. RSI will introduce "DAaMS" Display Alignment and Maintenance System, that automatically adjusts both Color and Brightness of the COTS projectors for uniform matching of the displayed scene.
The upgrade also includes RSI's new RASTER XT/64 PC Image Generator - with CERTS World Terrain and Commercial Off the Shelf LCoS Projectors. Advanced custom airfields will be accompanied by newly developed software that allows the automatic generation of airfields from DAFIF source data. This feature dramatically reduces the number of custom airfields required, and saves the customer thousands
of dollars.
